| The Doorbell Has Been Drinking |
[Nov. 28th, 2008|07:46 am] |
It's that holiday time of the year - but as we all know, most holiday songs are total shit.
TDHBD provides an alternative to the standard holiday fare by offering some non-traditional and original songs to review and add to your holiday library. Some of these tracks are rare, some are personal favorites, and still others ... ummm ... unique. To conserve bandwidth, I'll be rotating these out from time to time, if you've missed one, drop me a line. I may repeat a few tunes from last year, for those who missed them before.

| HIGH MOON Season II Continues |
[Oct. 1st, 2008|03:20 pm] |
HIGH MOON - The Second Season Of The Critically Acclaimed Steampunk Werewolf Western Continues!
Here's what other people are saying about the series:
- "High Moon creator/writer David Gallaher must have about twenty brains going full tilt boogie, because there's not a single false note in this tasty multi-genre combo platter which blends spaghetti westerns, hard-boiled detective fiction, werewolf B-flicks and Weird Menace pulps. You can almost taste the dust and smell the blood. Pass the popcorn, please." - Kevin Burton Smith, THE THRILLING DETECTIVE WEB SITE
- High Moon is what happens when you mix Doctor Strange and Doc Holiday. With werewolves, gunslingers, and the sumptuous artwork of Steve Ellis, High Moon will change everything you thought you knew about the Old West.
- Molly Crabapple, DR. SKETCHY'S
- "Mixing legend, mystery, and a touch of the wicked, Gallaher and Ellis prove how the west was weird." - Drew Rausch, SULLENGREY
- "High Moon looks to be one of the most promising comics to come out of the Zuda lineup to date. It's highly original and combines a fast paced storyline with moody art that nails the head for this horror western." - About.Com

[Sep. 10th, 2008|11:00 am] |

Literally. Nerdage, NewsOK's blog of awesomeness, lends a hat tip to HIGH MOON's second season, which takes place in Ragged Rock, Oklahoma. Nestled in the great Arbuckle Mountain Range, Ragged Rock is a largely self-sustained community created as part of the all-Black town movement in the post-Reconstruction era. As the nation's economy shifts agricultural to industrial, Ragged Rock is facing a change of its own. Read this week's mysterious installment to learn more. |

Voiceover Master Don LaFontaine has died. He was 68.
LaFontaine, known as the "King of Voiceovers," died Monday afternoon at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. LaFontaine's agent, Vanessa Gilbert, tells ET that he passed away following complications from Pneumothorax, the presence of air or gas in the pleural cavity, the result of a collapsed lung. The official cause of death has not yet been released.
He recently parodied himself on a series of national television commercials for Geico. At last count, he has worked on nearly 5000 films, including appearances as the in-show announcer for the Screen Actors Guild and Academy Awards. Based on contracts signed, he has the distinction of being perhaps the single busiest actor in the history of SAG. |
